January 2025 Power Apps feature update analysis

On the PowerApps911 blog, Patrick Cooley wrote about some new Power Apps features.

First, he provided details about the upgraded Power Platform admin center and explained that you can select the toggle at the top right of the home screen to see what it looks like. Cooley added that tasks are organized into clickable links on the left-side navigation menu.

Cooley then stated that the Power Apps plan designer is a new way to use Copilot to help you craft solutions to your business problems. He pointed out that you can get to it by toggling on the new Power Apps experience from the top right of the home page. He noted that you’ll need a Dataverse-enabled environment to use this feature.

Cooley wrote that the data workspace is a new visual tool that lets you see your tables on a canvas and view their connections. He explained that it makes it easy for you to create, add, and edit tables, either manually or with Copilot’s help. He stated that you can access it by selecting “create new tables” in the tables tab.

Registering a plugin step on any entity and can’t filter by attribute? Pick some entity first

Writing on his blog, Alex Shlega noted that sometimes you might need a plugin to run for any entity. However, he wrote that when you try to register a plugin step using the plugin registration tool, you may notice that you can’t filter these steps by attribute because that option is disabled.
