Alerts… alarming message for database storage
Writing on his Dynamicspedia blog, André Arnaud De Calavon stated that a recent blog post by Kurt Hatlevik got him thinking about his own experiences with how alert-related data is stored and used in databases.
Arnaud De Calavon noted that when he runs system health checks, performance reviews, or license audits, he often finds data in certain tables that’s either outdated or should have already been handled. Consequently, he wants to share what he’s learned about this, especially when it comes to alerts.
With the right permissions, any user can create alerts to be notified – either in the app or by email – when something specific happens. For example, he noted that an alert can be triggered when a record is created, updated, or approaching a due date.
In his blog post, Arnaud De Calavon first provided a quick summary of Hatlevik’s blog post. He then offered his thoughts on the alerts in D365 F&O.

On the CloudFronts blog, Vaishnavi Joshi wrote that when it comes to business reports, how they look is just as important as what they say.
