Visibility of slow-running queries for Dynamics 365 F&O with Azure app insights
Writing on the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Community blogs, Sohaib Cheema stated that Azure Application Insights is a useful tool that helps monitor how Microsoft services like Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations are performing.
Cheema noted that it gives you helpful information about how your app behaves, its performance over time, and where problems might be. However, there’s an important piece missing: data about slow-running queries.
Currently Application Insights doesn’t show which queries are taking too long, even though that’s something you’d expect it to track. He explained that was because D365 F&O isn’t actually sending that information to application insights. After looking into it, he found that the part of the system that’s supposed to send query performance data is turned off in the current version of D365 F&O.
In his blog post, Cheema explained the reason for this. He also pointed out the importance of having access to slow-query data and considered the necessary work by Microsoft to re-enable this feature.
Global tariffs: mastering inbound voyage tracking in D365 Supply Chain Management for the electronics industry
Writing on the Logan Consulting blog, Maya VanderWoude stated that in the electronics industry, getting materials on time is critical. She noted that since parts often come from all over the world, and demand can change quickly, companies need a clear view of what’s coming and when.
